roomsRooms/cabins
Interior renovations consist of the use of T-111 siding for the walls, and vaulted beamed ceilings, new wiring and plumbing as necessary, ceiling fans, and new carpeting or tile. All mattresses and box-springs have recently been replaced. All have cable TV and individual heating and A/C. Decorations include new bed spreads, curtains, lighting, and wall pictures. Exteriors feature authentic adobe walls lining the driveway and cabin flower beds. All flowerbeds are weed clothed with soaker hose irrigation. Low voltage lighting is incorporated in the walls to designate parking spaces. Low voltage and down-turned lighting throughout meet, or exceed the McDonald Observatory lighting requirements for all surrounding counties, and has been recognized as such. All buildings are rain guttered.

Utilities
All utilities are underground for safety, and reliability, as well as aesthetic purposes. In addition, the electrical, and cable TV are buried in conduit. Conduit is in place for future telephone connections in individual rooms. Mike Calvert, a licensed Master Electrician, owner of Calvert Electric of Fort Davis, installed all electrical upgrades and new wiring. The electrical is state of the art, and exceeds Brewster County code. It has been upgraded to 800 amps with a total capacity of 1000 amps.
